Education Department Records Excess of Rp 700 Billion Budget

City Education Department recorded a budget surplus of Rp 700 billion. The budget is seen after an evaluation with a number of activities in which overlapping. Later, this budget will be returned to the regional budget that will be submitted to other programs at the Regional Budget (APBD) Change.

Head of Jakarta Education Department, Lasro Marbun said that in the evaluation budget, a budget of Rp 700 billion from Rp 13 trillion total budgets will be returned to the local treasury. From the evaluation result, it is found some overlapping budget. "The budget is certainly will not be used as much as Rp 700 billion," said Lasro, at City Hall, Friday (4/11).

Exemplified Lasro, his party did find programs budgeted in several units, such as in the section or field Education Department. In addition, there are some programs that are not really necessary in this year. "For example, procurement rehab overlaps budgeting in which there is a double budget in the sub-department and field or in the department, and that is not in accordance with the field," he explained.

APBD Absorption Target Remains 97 Percent This Year

Besides the budget of Rp 700 billion, it still fond other budget of Rp 500 billion that the placement is not appropriate, for instance, the procurement of school bench that should be only 1,000 units, but it was budgeted to 3,000 units. "For the Rp 500 billion budget, we will see the need in the field. Probably, thare are some budgeting that do not fit the needs, for example, budgeted for 3,000 but it just needed in 1000 units. We have reported this to the governor," he added.

In addition to that, there are also some programs of which the process time is tight. It is doubted that it would not be impossible if it remains enforced. One of them is SMA Husni Thamrin operational and implementation of the National Students Olympiad (OSN). "There are other things that are already in tight deadline, one of them is our national student olympiad implementation as a host city that can also be corrected," Lasro stated.

As for the programs that are currently accelerated by the Department of Education is the implementation of the National Examination (UN) in elementary level since that implementation is at the regional level. "UN for elementary level related to the question making and certificate matter is being accelerated," said Lasro.

Nevertheless, it still will be monitored again until the end of July for the last evaluation before it is reported to City Governor. There is still probability of the corrected budget could be increased. "We will do an evaluation until the end of June, which ones will be carried out which ones are not. In July, we could report to Mr. Governor the budget that really we're not used," he completed.
